Berkshire Promise Scholarship

Berkshire Promise Scholarships are awarded to applicants living in Berkshire County with demonstrated financial need enrolled in a degree or certificate program or who will be enrolling at Berkshire Community College. Applicants must be a Berkshire Community College student in good standing and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. First preference shall be given to applicants for whom financing is critical to their achieving academic success and are the first in their family to attend college.

In addition students who receive this award must meet the following conditions:

  • Maintain, at minimum, 10 hours of weekly employment or volunteer work during the year, this may include work study hours.
  • Meet with their academic advisor at minimum once per semester and obtain a degree plan. A copy of this plan must be provided to the Foundation office before or during the first full week of the semester.
  • Attend classes regularly.
  • Take advantage of available tutoring services for classes in which a GPA is in danger of falling below 2.0.
  • Whenever possible students are encouraged to take a financial literacy course, for example Money Management for Life (BUS-139).
