Rhoda Rubin Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Rhoda Rubin chose the nursing profession in order to fulfill her ambitions to “alleviate the suffering of humanity.” Following a divorce, she raised three children by herself, worked full-time as a school and public health nurse and part-time as a RN at the former Hillcrest Hospital. She was a remarkable woman with an intense sense of pride and fortitude. As a legacy to their beloved mother, Rhoda’s three children established this scholarship to assist single parents wanting to fulfill their dreams of becoming a nurse. This fund is managed by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
