Richard Melluzzo Scholarship

The Richard Melluzzo Scholarship at Berkshire Community College supports students throughout Berkshire County intending to pursue a career in the mental health field; eligible students will have completed a FAFSA, maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 and remain a student in good standing at BCC

Rich Melluzzo died in December 2021 at the age of 70. Mr. Melluzzo spent his career in the mental health field, a career that spanned 42 years. He was happiest when interacting with his clients. Committed to his family and community, Mr. Melluzzo was actively engaged in his community, serving as a selectman in Great Barrington. Mr. Melluzzo’s family described his interests best “Richard was devoted to his family, friends, and clients. He saw the best in people and more importantly helped them realize it too. He will be remembered for his desire and willingness to help those in need with compassion and dignity (especially if they were wearing a Red Sox hat).”
