The Peggy Williams, Eleanor Williams, and Frances Stalvey Scholarship

The Peggy Williams, Eleanor Williams, and Frances Stalvey Scholarship is awarded to promising students who exhibit outstanding achievement in developmental course work. Peggy Williams played a variety of roles at the college over the years, but none more important than “School Mother,” a title of endearment given her by one student who could easily have been speaking for many who felt that way about her. Like the women in whose honor she endowed this scholarship with deductions from her paycheck, Peggy gave others the strength to believe in themselves, and always encouraged those whom she had helped to do the same for someone else. Her name joins those of her mother and mother-in-law on the scholarship she created to recognize both personal achievement and selflessness.
