Representative Smitty Pignatelli Scholarship

The scholarship has been endowed through the vision and generosity of an anonymous donor and awards funds on an annual basis to students residing in the third district, comprising Alford, Becket, Dalton, Egremont, Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Monterey, Mount Washington, New Marlborough, Otis, Richmond, Sandisfield, Sheffield, Stockbridge, Tyringham, Washington, and West Stockbridge, who have demonstrated a commitment to pursuing either a degree or certificate at Berkshire Community College and have an interest in community involvement and civic responsibility.

Representative William “Smitty” Pignatelli, a lifelong Lenox, Massachusetts resident, has served the Massachusetts Legislature for 22 years, representing the third Berkshire District. Smitty raised constituent services to an artform, caring about every resident in his district. He represented the needs, wants, and goals of Southern Berkshire County with passionate dedication and consistently advocated for increased educational funding.
